Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe.
Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life – for example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam, or having a medical test or job interview.
During times like these, feeling anxious can be perfectly normal. But some people find it hard to control their worries. Their feelings of anxiety are more constant and can often affect their daily lives. Anxiety is caused by negative thinking. Its not the events in ones lives that necessarily cause the perception of crisis. Every negative thought is converted into anxiety, we can create anxiety by negatively forecasting the future, such as ‘I will never be able to afford a car’, or ‘I will never get that job’. Or small things, such as ‘ that meeting isn’t going to go well’. We can also negatively introspect about the past.
During the initial consultation, I will explain how the brain works, how anxiety is created. How we suffer in the way we do and what we can do about it. This explanation will help clients gain an understanding of anxiety and also helps clients identify how they want their lives to be in the future.
Subsequent weekly sessions will focus on positive, future visualisation and hypnosis.
